Mission: We will provide junior players a local venue with a supervised and controlled atmosphere to help develop their match experience and their passion to compete, simply for the pure enjoyment of the game of tennis.

Schedule of Events: All competitions will be held at Willowbend Country Club and King’s Grant Racquet Club for the specified age categories and dates. In the event of an overwhelming number of entries, additional courts might be in use at Cape Cod Academy.

Aug. 22 - 24: First Annual Cape Cod Junior Clay Court Championships
(10, 12, 14, 16 and under divisions in both boys and girls)

Format:

• Each competition may vary due to the number of participants in each category, as determined by the directors. 
• When possible we will try to complete competitions in one day.
• Each player is guaranteed at least two matches at each competition.
• Players will earn five grand prix points for participation in each match played and be awarded 10 points for each match won.
• The player at each event in each division that earns the most points will be awarded a championship certificate.
• The four players in each division who earn the highest number of grand prix points over the entire season will earn the right to be seeded in the season-ending Cape Cod Junior Clay Court Championships.
• All players MUST compete in their age appropriate division. Once a player wins three events, he or she will have earned the right to compete in the next age division. Players that win in their division will bypass the need for accumulating grand prix points in their original division and secure a seeded position in the draw in the season ending tournament.
• Players that earn the right to age-up will start a new grand prix point accumulation in the new age group

Entry Fee: $20 per competition, $35 per player for the Cape Cod Junior Clay Court Championships, Aug. 22 – 24.

All entry fees include balls, the court time at each event, one Cape Cod Junior Tennis Series T-shirt for the season. The season-ending tournament will include a cookout for all of the participants throughout the summer.

All entry fees must be accompanied by a completed application and received by the Wednesday prior to the start of the scheduled date of competition. All checks should be made out to either Willowbend Country Club or King’s Grant Racquet Club depending on the venue your child is scheduled to play at. 

What Should I Bring?

• A smile and great attitude!
• Your favorite refreshments (a jug filled with ice and favorite beverage is recommended). Players can bring it courtside during match play.
• Healthy snack food for the time between matches.  
• Tennis clothing with pockets or ball storage compartments.
