Meet the Pros

John Maloy, tennis director at King's Grant, has been a member of the U.S. Professional Tennis Association for more than 30 years. He has extensive experience teaching both adult and junior lessons and clinics. John has successfully coached and traveled with his two daughters in both sectional and national tournaments, as well high school and college varsity. He is also a former elementary school teacher.

Nash Muraya is new to the team this year, but brings many years of experience. A 2006 graduate of West Virginia University, Nash's most impressive credential is his membership on the Kenyan Davis Cup team in 1999. As a teaching pro, he has worked at the Mid-Cape Racquet Club, the Falmouth Sports Center and the Paxton Sports Centre near Worcester, Mass. He brings enthusiasm and exceptional talent to King's Grant.

Rob Halligan also arrives as a new pro and brings a rich background to share with our members. He played his college tennis at Williams College, where he was team captain. For the past two years he has been tennis director at Lifetime Fitness in Boca Raton, Fla.  He is also a certified personal trainer and was ranked nationally in squash and tennis, including a No. 1 ranking in New England in the father-son division.

Joe Lipka will be returning for the coming season. He is a member of the USPTR and assistant coach for the Cape Cod Academy’s boys’ varsity team. Joe’s energetic teaching style produces stimulating, active lessons and clinics.

John Swan is back for his second season. "Swannie" is a member of the USPTA and has been very active in the USTA adult tournament program. He has attained high rankings in all age categories. John is a student of the “game” of tennis and will provide excellent instruction in both singles and doubles technique and strategy.

“Gentleman” Tom Larkin will be returning for his fourth season at King’s Grant. He has consistently been a highly ranked player in both USTA New England singles and doubles adult competition. Tom has attained national ranking in both USTA Father/Son and Father/Daughter competition. He has coached both his children to high ranking in USTA New England competition.
